Having anorak-wearing loners as default models makes it so impersonal between you and your character, let alone others. Having a face at least makes it so you don't seem like you're trying to stalk someone 24/7.

I voted for individual faces rather than balaclavas because it is a lot more personalized than having everyone wearing a balaclava. Sure it can be a bit weird with people with the same model, but when everyone has a balaclava it is hard to tell who is who, and there is also a lot more freedom with your description if you don't have the balaclava.
